The Sisters of St. Ann is a Roman Catholic religious institute, founded in 1850 in Vaudreuil, Quebec. In 1858, the congregation arrived in Victoria, British Columbia to help Bishop Modeste Demers with First Nations people. In 1871 St. Ann's Academy (Victoria, British Columbia) was established. The congregation has taught in various schools and has built schools and foundations, including hospitals, across western Canada, western United States, Alaska, Quebec & Haiti.
The sisters arrived in the United States in 1870 at the request of the Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo. The sisters went on to expand throughout northern New York and New England, staffing many schools of French-speaking parishes. The sisters' provincial house was located in Marlboro, Massachusetts.
In 1912, the sisters of the United States province numbered 150.
